Change of Venue! Unfortunately, for reasons out of our control, the venue for our upcoming concert with the Harborough Singers has been changed. It will now be at the Methodist Church.

We are National Champions!

What a weekend for Harborough Band! We won the Second Section National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain at the Barbican in York on Saturday — a truly historic achievement for our band.

A huge thank you to our MD, Ben Smith, who guided us to our first Midlands Area title in 70 years in March, before stepping in and leading us to national success.

Ben said:

“I am absolutely over the moon. Usually before a contest I have a strong idea of where I would like to place, but given the nature of this contest where all the bands are qualifiers, and the difficulty of the test piece, I honestly had no idea what to expect. I asked the band to go and give 110% and perform with passion and energy, and I’m so proud of the performance they pulled off which near on replicated the band room. I still can’t quite believe it, but the band are absolutely worthy after the endless hours of work, both music and admin, they have put into this.”

National Finals Fundraising Raffle

We’re excited to announce our National Finals Fundraising Raffle, helping Harborough Band raise vital funds as we prepare for the National Finals!

Lord-Lieutenant’s Garden Party

🎺 A Special Invitation for Harborough Band 🎺

We were delighted to be invited to perform at the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire’s Garden Party at Beaumanor Hall on Sunday 2nd August 2026.

Set in the beautiful grounds of this historic Leicestershire venue, it was a real honour for the band to provide the musical entertainment for such a prestigious occasion. The event was a wonderful opportunity to represent Market Harborough and showcase the band’s music to guests from across the county.

We were incredibly proud to be part of such a special day and grateful for the invitation. It was another memorable engagement for the band and a great example of the role Harborough Band continues to play in supporting and celebrating our local community. 🎶🎺

Band-a-thon

🎺 Harborough Band 8-Hour Band-a-thon – 1st August 2026 🎺

On 1st August, we took on the challenge of an incredible 8-hour Bandathon, filling the day with live music, fun and plenty of community spirit!

The event was organised to help raise much-needed funds towards the band’s journey to the National Finals in York in September. It was a fantastic opportunity for our musicians to come together, showcase their love of music and raise money for this exciting next step.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported us, donated, played, volunteered and helped make the day such a success. Your generosity and encouragement mean so much to the whole band.
